Job summary

Acara Solutions is recruiting for a Procurement Specialist Expeditor in Charlotte, NC to drive tactical execution of purchased materials through manufacturing stages. You will work with global and local teams, suppliers, Engineering, Logistics, and supplier quality partners to keep schedules on track and resolve daily issues.

The role requires 3+ years in direct purchasing or material planning, plus experience in continuous process improvement and strong SAP/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years direct purchasing or material planning experience.
• 3+ years in facilitating continuous process improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor procurement activities including order confirmations and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with project management, Logistics, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure planning and execution.
• Support transportation and customs compliance and manage project results versus budget.
• Lead technical clarifications with Engineering and supplier quality teams for assigned commodities.
• Provide weekly schedule progress reports and drive procurement process improvements.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Science
• 3+ years of applicable direct purchasing / material requirement planning or comparable experience
• 3+ years of experience in facilitating or participating in continuous process improvement projects

What Sets You Apart

• Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
• Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
• Advanced knowledge of Power Generation products/supply market
• Advanced technical knowledge needed (like reading and understanding technical drawings, specifications)
• Solid SAP system knowledge as a user of the "Buy" module is needed
• Advanced analytical skills to handle, transform, understand and use large data volumes (preferred Microsoft Excel)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, collaboration and influencing techniques, result-orientation and strategic-innovative thinking needed
• Strong intercultural sensitivity and outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong team player, with a can-do attitude and problem-resolution focus.
