Job summary

Acara Solutions is seeking a Buyer in Indianapolis, IN for a 12-month contract. The role focuses on developing global supplier/commodity strategies to improve quality, cost, and delivery, while collaborating with stakeholders and the purchasing team throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include negotiating terms, sourcing parts/services, managing purchase documents, and driving cost reductions. Strong procurement experience and SAP knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6+ years of experience in operational, procurement or logistical roles.
• Experience with procurement in a global environment is a plus.
• SAP experience is preferred.

• Support or lead key contract negotiations, including completing costs analyses and negotiations on terms and conditions.
• Managing work queue, including the sourcing of parts/services, raising and management of purchase documents.
• Supplier operations and relationship management within commodity group.
• Cost reduction / cost management to support the companies cost targets.
• Support or lead development and execution of commodity strategies.

• As a Buyer, you will develop and implement global external supplier and commodity strategies that will drive long-term improvements in quality, cost and delivery, with engagement and support of key stakeholders so as to enhance competitive and commercial performance of client, its customers and suppliers.
• You will also operate within the supply chain management team/purchasing team across the full product/service life cycle, ensuring supplier commercial issues are resolved effectively and efficiently.
