Job summary

Roskam Foods seeks a procurement professional to manage supplier selection, cost reduction, and value optimization across our manufacturing operations. You will negotiate terms, analyze supplier performance, and drive cost-saving initiatives within a dynamic contract manufacturing environment.

The role collaborates with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Finance to ensure purchasing aligns with business needs, while ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and service.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors under leadership guidance.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Finance to align purchasing with business needs.
• Support cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in forecasting and inventory planning to ensure supply continuity.
• Participate in cross-functional projects related to procurement and supply chain optimization.

Key Essential Functions/Duties

• Participate in cross-functional projects related to procurement and supply chain optimization.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field. 3+ years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or co-manufacturing environment. Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of sourcing strategies, contract management, and supplier performance evaluation.

Preferred Skills

Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CPIM). Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Experience with food manufacturing. Familiarity with global sourcing and logistics.
