Job summary

Grow Early Learning in Raleigh, NC is seeking an entry level Procurement Specialist to support procurement and operations in our corporate office.

Qualified candidates have an Associate degree and about one year of procurement or purchasing experience. Responsibilities include reviewing requisitions, vendor evaluations, maintaining vendor data, preparing RFPs, and pursuing cost savings. This on-site role offers benefits and growth opportunities within a Head Start program.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in business administration or equivalent.
• One year procurement or purchasing experience.
• Ability to review requisitions, vendor selection, and cost-saving opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions to ensure coding, funding, approvals, bid thresholds, and vendor selections comply.
• Search for vendors and review vendor performance.
• Maintain relationships with vendors to assist purchasing needs and resolve issues.
• Review encumbrances to ensure they are current and active.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities by ensuring costs are reasonable and necessary.
• Analyze procurement requirements and reporting systems.
• Maintain source data for reporting purposes.
• Participate in preparing and evaluating RFPs.
• Assist in maintaining the vendor list using SAMS to check for debarred/suspended vendors.
• Inform Senior Procurement Specialist of trends or issues with Purchase Orders.
• Ensure Uniform Guidance is followed.
• Coordinate Finance Department purchasing needs.

Procurement Specialist

Salary Range: $21.00 To $25.00 Hourly

We are currently seekingan ENTRY LEVEL Procurement Specialistto join our team in our Raleigh, NC corporate office.

Purpose : The Procurement Specialist is responsible for performing tasks related to procurement and supporting the organization operations.

Grow Early Learning is a Head Start organization that provides high-quality early childhood education services to children and families of migrant and seasonal farm workers.

Education and Experience:

Accepted: Associate degree in business administration or an equivalent combination of relevant education and one year of procurement or purchasing roles.

• Review purchase requisitions to ensure that coding, funding, approvals, bid thresholds and vendor selections are following Grow Early Learning requirements.
• Search for vendors and review vendor performance as needed.
• Maintain relationships with vendors to help with purchasing needs and resolve issues.
• Review encumbrances to ensure they are current and active.
• Look for ways to save costs within the organization by making sure all costs are reasonable and necessary.
• Examine and analyze the procurement requirements and reporting systems of Grow Early Learning.
• Maintenance and accumulation of source data for reporting purposes.
• Participate in the preparation and evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Assist in maintaining the vendor list by using (SAMS) to check for debarred or suspended vendors.
• Inform Senior Procurement Specialist of trends or issues that occur with Purchase Orders, so processes can be adapted as needed.
• Ensure that Uniform Guidance is followed while carrying out their duties.
• Coordinate Finance Department purchasing needs.

Desired Skills:

Ability to communicate, receive, and transfer written, oral, and electronic information effectively. Computer skills including Microsoft applications: Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with accounting systems preferred. Ability to analyze, organize, file and distribute information. Ability to establish vendor relationships to benefit Grow Early Learning. Work in a Team Environment and knowledge of federal regulations.
