Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Procurement Specialist to drive efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services for our operations. You will manage requisitions, negotiations, POs, and contracts while ensuring compliance with policies and project requirements.

You will source and pre-qualify vendors, build strong supplier relationships, and collaborate with project managers to align procurement with project needs and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, or related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience, energy/construction/heavy industry preferred.
• Proven negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract terms, and commercial conditions.
• Experience with SAP or Oracle ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• CPM or related certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end procurement processes, including requisition review, negotiation, purchase order issuance, and contract management for materials, equipment, and services.
• Source and pre-qualify new vendors, assessing their capabilities, financial stability, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and other internal stakeholders to understand project needs and specifications.
• Monitor supplier performance, address discrepancies, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare and analyze procurement reports, identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, procedures, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and vendor records.
• Participate in strategic sourcing initiatives and contribute to the development of procurement strategies.
• Resolve disputes and claims with suppliers in a timely and effective manner.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain roles, preferably within the energy, construction, or heavy industrial sectors. Not required but would be helpful.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract law, and commercial terms and conditions.
• Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
• High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
• CPM or other relevant professional certification is a plus.
