Job summary

Golden Technology, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Specialist with a strong automotive background to own sourcing and purchasing for new product development projects in our Durham, NC area.

You will secure parts, obtain quotes, run RFIs/RFQs, benchmark suppliers, and drive contract negotiations while ensuring cost, quality and schedule targets are met.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive procurement, a relevant degree, and hands-on SAP/ERP experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of procurement experience in automotive (OEM or Tier 1/2) within medium- to high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of SAP and ERP/MRP workflows.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree with related experience

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Secure all externally purchased and intercompany components needed throughout the project's development phase
• Obtain quotes and identify sources for production materials, ensuring cost, quality, and schedule goals are met within the product development process
• Run the RFI and RFQ cycle from start to finish
• Benchmark and compare suppliers to confirm the company is getting competitive offers
• Drive supplier selection decisions in line with company guidelines
• Oversee contract execution and ensure it follows internal policies
• Negotiate volumes, pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, Management, or Engineering, or an Associate degree (2-year) in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or Engineering plus at least 5 years of relevant experience
• Required: 5 years of procurement experience in the automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier) within medium- to high-volume manufacturing
• Background in electro-mechanical automotive components is a plus

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of financial evaluation techniques such as NPV, IRR, and ROI
• Understanding of logistics and material requirements planning
• Advanced proficiency in SAP
• Hands-on exposure to automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949 / TS 16949, along with ISO 9001
• Comfortable with PC applications, including the Microsoft Office suite
