Job description

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a skilled Purchasing Specialist. This role is responsible for direct material procurement, vendor quote management, and inventory oversight supporting a wiring harness and electronic systems division. The ideal candidate will bring mid-level purchasing experience and comfort working with international suppliers in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in Korean is a strong preferred trait for this role.

Job Duties

• Execute direct material purchasing activities for components, including connectors and wiring-related materials
• Review supplier quotations and conduct competitive bidding to drive cost improvements
• Identify optimal global sourcing options to achieve target pricing and supply continuity
• Coordinate with vendors across the U.S., Mexico, and Asia to manage orders and delivery timelines
• Maintain safety stock levels and monitor inventory to support production requirements
• Analyze demand signals and adjust purchasing quantities to prevent shortages or excess
• Utilize ERP systems (MES and SAP) to process purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement data
• Support quarterly supplier site visits and warehouse coordination as needed

Skills & Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of direct material purchasing experience in manufacturing
• Experience sourcing technical components in a global supply base
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Experience managing supplier quotes, cost comparisons, and price negotiations
• Experience maintaining inventory safety stock levels and supporting production schedules
• Experience purchasing wiring harnesses, connectors, or electrical components
• Experience supporting automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier environments
