Responsibilities

  • Create and process purchase orders for construction, field operations, and related materials.
  • Obtain vendor quotes and evaluate pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery options.
  • Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve backorders or shortages.
  • Monitor open purchase orders and help expedite critical materials when needed.
  • Support inventory planning by tracking stock levels, usage trends, and supplier lead times.
  • Partner with Construction, Field Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, and Accounting teams to ensure material needs are met.
  • Maintain purchasing documentation and procurement records.
  • Assist with invoice, receiving, quantity, pricing, and delivery discrepancies.
  • Track and manage company inventory across warehouses, staging locations, and third-party storage facilities.
  • Research alternative products and suppliers to support business needs.
  • Preparing reports related to purchasing activity, material availability, and supplier performance.
  • Identifying and escalating potential material shortages, delivery risks, or supplier concerns before they affect operations.

At Greenlight Networks, we're expanding high-speed fiber internet to more communities, and our success starts with having the right materials in the right place at the right time. We're looking for a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist, located at our headquarters in Rochester, NY, to support our Construction and Field Operations teams by managing purchasing activities, coordinating with suppliers, and helping ensure critical materials are available to keep projects moving forward.

What You'll Do
  • As a Procurement Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting construction projects and daily field operations by:
  • Creating and processing purchase orders for construction, field operations, and related materials.
  • Obtaining vendor quotes and evaluating pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery options.

  • Experience in telecommunications, fiber construction, utilities, field operations, or similar industries is a plus.

Compensation:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly rate for this position is between $29.81 - $38.46. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
