Job summary

Staffmark Group in South Windsor, CT is seeking a Purchasing Agent on 1st shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) to source materials, manage supplier relationships, track orders and support inventory operations. This entry-to-mid-level role offers growth in procurement, supply chain and vendor management, with responsibilities including bid review and price negotiation.

The base pay range is $65,000 - $70,000 and benefits may include medical, dental, vision, retirement, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years of college coursework in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and purchasing experience considered.
• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, logistics, or supply chain experience.
• Experience using QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source materials, parts, equipment, and supplies from qualified vendors.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate supplier bids, quotes, and proposals.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms with suppliers.
• Track purchase orders, shipments, inventory levels, and logistics activities.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, shipping documentation, and supplier data.
• Resolve supplier delivery, quality, and inventory issues.
• Coordinate procurement activities from purchase request through final delivery.
• Support inventory management and continuous improvement initiatives.
