Job summary

Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine seeks a Procurement & Risk Manager to lead property and casualty insurance programs and drive strategic procurement across the college. You will serve as a key advisor to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, partnering across the institution to strengthen risk controls and improve purchasing practices.

The role coordinates with brokers, insurers, vendors and counsel to deliver measurable value, manage exposure, and enhance service levels

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or related field required.
• Insurance certification preferred.
• Experience with claims administration and risk data analysis.
• Knowledge of procurement practices and vendor due diligence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee annual applications for insurance and renewal applications, identify risk sources and develop strategic actions.
• Assist Student Affairs with procurement of student health insurance and related coverage.
• Establish bidding processes, negotiate prices, and evaluate vendor credit history for viability.
• Coordinate information flow among claimants, insurers, adjusters, attorneys and counsel.
• Coordinate campus-wide risk management training sessions, guidelines, and procedures.
• Collaborate with General Counsel to ensure contract compliance.
