Job summary

athenahealth is seeking a Procurement Manager, Process & Governance to translate operating needs into repeatable procurement processes ensuring consistency and compliance. The role owns SOPs, process maps, RACIs, and governance communications, coordinating with Legal, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders.

You will maintain procurement knowledge assets, publish review-ready updates, and lead governance cadences.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Operations).
7–10 years in procurement operations, governance, process excellence, or PMO.
Experience developing SOPs, process maps, controls documentation, training materials, and change management resources.
Experience coordinating governance reporting across multiple contributors and functions.
Familiarity with Oracle/P2P, SharePoint, Teams, CLM, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop, standardize, and maintain end-to-end Procurement workflows (intake, sourcing, contracting, vendor management, procure-to-pay).
Create and update SOPs, process maps, RACIs, control points, templates, job aids, and exception pathways.
Coordinate recurring governance reporting (calendars, templates, version control, quality checks, publication).
Gather inputs from cross-functional partners and publish review-ready updates on schedule.
Track audit requests and remediation actions; maintain evidence for audit readiness.
Lead working sessions and document decisions; assign actions and follow through.
