Job summary

Abbott in Westfield, IN is seeking a Planner/Buyer to ensure continuity of supply for production and new product development. You will manage POs, communicate with suppliers, schedule deliveries, and work with Global Planning, Operations, Engineering, and Finance.

The role requires 1+ year in procurement, ERP/MRP experience (SAP/Oracle), strong Excel skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects independently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field.
• 1+ year in procurement with large-scale MRP/ERP systems.
• Strong knowledge of ISO, FDA QSR, and cGMP requirements.
• Experience with SAP or Oracle and ERP-based planning.
• Excellent Excel, Word and Outlook proficiency.
• Ability to manage lot control/traceability and inventory concepts.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages purchase orders for components and services to support production and projects.
• Communicates PO requirements to suppliers and monitors schedule adherence.
• Works with Global Planning, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to optimize inventory.
• Generates work orders and manages day-to-day build schedule.
• Maintains ERP parameters (safety stock, lead times) and documents records.
• Supports QMS/EMS regulatory requirements and supplier relationships.
