Job summary

Columbia Sportswear Company is seeking a Hybrid Procurement Operations Analyst based at our Portland-area HQ to oversee NA purchasing activities. The role emphasizes accuracy in the procure-to-pay process, PO handling, supplier onboarding, and collaboration with AP, shipping, and category teams.

You will train and coach stakeholders, drive process improvements, and support supplier enablement while maintaining strong customer service and adherence to procurement best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Experience with eProcurement systems (e.g., Ariba) preferred.
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to build relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the purchase order process through Columbia’s procurement system, ensuring pricing accuracy and prerelease compliance.
  • Serve as a primary contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers regarding procurement processes.
  • Provide targeted training, coaching, and hands-on support to business partners to improve process understanding and adoption of procurement tools.
  • Manage new supplier onboarding, intake, validation, and registration.
  • Coordinate supplier enablement and catalog programs.
  • Coordinate with category management and sourcing teams to ensure timely supplier setup.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, shipping/receiving, and requesting departments to ensure proper purchasing execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency.

Job description

This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Procurement Operations Analyst is responsible for the accurate and efficient execution of the purchasing process for assigned regions or categories (North America). Serving as a subject matter expert on Columbia’s operational procurement process, this role provides training, coaching, and support to internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure process understanding and compliance. The Specialist manages new supplier intake and onboarding, executes transactional purchasing, and plays a critical role in the overall procure-to-pay process, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
  • Monitor and manage the purchase order process through Columbia’s procurement system, ensuring accuracy of pricing, documentation, and compliance prior to order release.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers regarding procurement processes, emphasizing issue resolution, troubleshooting, and complex inquiry management.
  • Provide targeted training, coaching, and hands‑on support to business partners to improve process understanding, reduce rework, and drive adoption of procurement tools and standard ways of working.
  • Manage new supplier onboarding, including intake, validation, and registration.
  • Coordinate supplier enablement and catalog programs.
  • Coordinate with category management and sourcing teams to ensure timely supplier setup to support sourcing activities.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, shipping/receiving, and requesting departments to ensure proper execution of purchasing activities.
  • Participate in and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function.
YOU HAVE
  • You're expected to have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in procurement operations, purchasing, or related roles.
  • Experience with eProcurement systems (e.g., Ariba) preferred.
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to build relationships.
  • Knowledge of purchasing best practices and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to train and coach stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with eProcurement systems preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
