Job Summary
The Procurement Manager – Capital Projects/Equipment is responsible for sourcing and procuring capital equipment to support Applied Digital's engineering and construction projects. This role plays a key part in vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality equipment aligned with project timelines. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in capital procurement and vendor management, combined with strong alignment to the unique demands of large-scale digital infrastructure and construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital equipment across major engineering and construction initiatives.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms while meeting quality and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to define equipment requirements, specifications, and delivery schedules.
- Manage procurement timelines to support overall project schedules and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Oversee execution of procurement contracts, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct market and pricing analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and maintain budget alignment.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation in alignment with company ERP systems.
- Prepare, manage, and report on capital equipment procurement budgets.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of capital procurement experience, ideally within the engineering or construction industries.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
- Proficiency in procurement platforms and ERP systems such as NetSuite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder collaboration capabilities.
- Familiarity with capital project workflows, compliance requirements, and industry procurement standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Supply Chain (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) or Project Management (e.g., PMP).
- Experience in data center construction or high-tech infrastructure environments.
- Prior involvement in developing and scaling procurement programs or tools in a growing organization.
Physical Requirements
Able to remain seated for an extended period and lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.
Working Conditions
Remote – The Company agrees that the Employee may work from home provided the employee is in good standing, has a continuously secured internet connection and necessary equipment, and is accessible by MS Teams, phone, fax, and email during business hours. (See Telework policy.)
Some overtime may be required to meet project demands. Office and project work hours may vary depending on deadlines or procurement cycles.
