Responsibilities

  • Translate production forecasts into material requirements and purchasing plans.
  • Ensure raw materials, packaging materials, and supplies arrive on time to support scheduled production.
  • Maintain visibility into inventory, open purchase orders, supplier lead times, and potential material shortages.
  • Proactively identify supply risks and develop solutions before they impact production.
  • Manage purchase orders from placement through delivery, including confirmation, expediting, and issue resolution.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, freight, minimum order quantities, lead times, and other terms.
  • Build collaborative supplier relationships that support quality, delivery, responsiveness, and reliable performance.
  • Identify and develop alternate and backup suppliers for critical materials.
  • Lead and develop Inventory and Staging resources.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels, safety stocks, and reorder points while managing working capital.
  • Support inventory accuracy and develop solutions for excess, obsolete, and at-risk inventory.
  • Ensure required materials are available and staged in advance of scheduled production.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Production, Operations, Quality, Warehouse, Finance, and other teams.
  • Communicate potential risks early and clearly while bringing forward thoughtful recommendations and solutions.
  • Continually identify opportunities to improve cost, service, quality, and supply reliability.

Procurement Manager
Position Overview

Wisconsin Brewing Company is seeking an experienced, results-driven Procurement Manager to lead procurement, inventory, and material staging.

This is a highly impactful role that goes beyond traditional purchasing. The Procurement Manager will translate production forecasts and schedules into material requirements, helping ensure the ingredients, packaging materials, and supplies needed for production are available when and where they are needed.

The ideal candidate combines strong planning and analytical skills with initiative, persistence, and exceptional follow-through. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, negotiating effectively, building strong supplier relationships, and developing creative solutions that keep operations moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or materials-management experience, preferably in beverage manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience translating production requirements into purchasing and material plans.
  • Strong supplier-management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with ERP/MRP or inventory-management systems, SAP preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated urgency, ownership, persistence, and follow-through.
  • Experience in manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, or a related production environment is strongly preferred.
  • Previous leadership responsibility for inventory, warehouse, staging, or material-handling functions is preferred.
