Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to optimize purchasing operations in a manufacturing environment. You will manage requisitions and purchase orders in SAP, maintain vendor pricing in PeopleSoft, and analyze ERP data to support production goals.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with PeopleSoft and SAP, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work with engineering teams on long-lead items and vendor changes.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of procurement or purchasing experience.
• Hands-on PeopleSoft experience required.
• Experience creating purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP.
• Maintain vendor pricing and lead-time information in PeopleSoft.
• Review orders, direct-ship requests, and return-to-vendor transactions.
• Pull BOM information and compare with inventory.
• Run and analyze Power BI reports.
• Communicate with vendors regarding PO acknowledgments, pricing, parts, and service issues.
• Partner with Engineering on SAP requisitions, discontinued/obsolete parts, long-lead items, and vendor part-number changes.
• Support work orders and resolve ERP-related issues.
• Assist the Receiving team with PO-related issues and discrepancies.
• Conduct vendor reviews and assist with purchase order matching exceptions.
• Provide procurement information that may impact production schedules and goals.
