Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging in Houston, TX is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead procurement across all locations and manage approximately $80MM in annual purchasing spend. This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and supervises 8 direct reports, collaborating with Inventory, Service, and Operations teams to source parts, materials, services, and equipment for shop and field operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (D365 preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Process-oriented mindset with standardized procurement procedures and compliant workflows.
  • Knowledge of construction and/or diesel-powered equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop procurement staff including Buyers and Expeditors.
  • Oversee daily purchasing activities, requisition review, purchase order creation, and order expediting.
  • Forecast demand with Inventory, Service, and Operations to reduce stock-outs and minimize excess inventory.
  • Analyze purchasing data and drive cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Track and report procurement performance against defined metrics, including PO cycle time, cost savings %, and on-time delivery %.
  • Resolve vendor, quality, pricing, and delivery issues.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and conduct regular reviews to improve service quality, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and procurement best practices.
  • Lead procurement process improvement efforts through training, technology, and automation.

Job Overview

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing purchasing and procurement operations across all Bigge locations, managing approximately $80MM in annual purchasing spend. This role reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and manages 8 direct reports (Buyers and Expeditors) while partnering closely with Inventory, Service, and Operations teams to ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing of parts, materials, services, and equipment in support of shop and field operations.
