Job summary

Mission Critical Group in the United States is seeking a Procurement & Logistics Coordinator to manage material flow from PO generation to final transport for modular buildings. You will coordinate oversize freight, permits, and staging to keep production on schedule.

Qualifications

Job Description

The Procurement & Logistics Coordinator tracks components from initial purchase order generation up through final transport execution out of the facility. This role manages raw material flow to prevent shop delays while arranging the specialized trailers, escorts, and permitsto safely move modular buildingsover long distances.The Procurement & Logistics Coordinator is accountable for material availability and final product delivery across the facility’s supply chain. This role ensures raw materials and long-lead electrical items arrive exactly when needed to maintainworkshopproduction schedules, while managing the complex rigging, heavy-haul logistics, and transport permits required to move finished modular buildings out of the construction yard.

The following list of responsibilities is not allinclusive,additionalprojects and/or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position shouldoperationalneeds warrant.

  • Material Synchronization:Place purchase orders (POs) for raw steel, custom fasteners, paint supplies, and electrical components, scheduling deliveries to match the real-time capacity of thework shop.
  • Long-Lead Asset Tracking:Coordinate directly with Project Managers and vendors to monitor the production and delivery timelines of major client-furnished or factory-purchased items like switchgear, MCCs, and HVAC systems to prevent shop floor gridlock.
  • Logistics & Staging Management:Partner with the Construction Superintendent to plan the movement of incoming raw goods and the outbound staging of multi-ton modular buildings within the construction yard.
  • Oversize Freight Coordination:Source, negotiate, and manage specialized heavy-haul transportation vendors, ensuring all legal load dimensions, escort vehicles, and regional highway permits are secured prior to shipping dates.
  • Inventory & Bill of Materials (BOM) Control:Work alongside the Design Support Specialist to review engineering BOMs, reconcile physical shop inventory against delivery tickets, and log material variances to protect project margins.
Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of supply chain, purchasing, or commercial transportation coordination experience inside a heavy industrial or construction sector.
  • Working understanding of over-the-road freight rules, multi-state oversize transit mandates, and permit sourcing workflows.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience building contracts with global material vendors and freight companies.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience routing heavy-haul shipments (load weights surpassing 50 tons) with complex multi-state permit parameters.
  • Mastery of modern inventory tracking architectures or cloud-based ERP logistics applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Split operational landscape between office procurement tasks and physical yard/materials inspections.
  • Ability to stand and walk safely across high-traffic material receiving yards and staging tracks.
  • Ability to pull, look through, and lift material documentation or physical inventory markers up to 30 pounds.

Success Measures

  • Zero production stoppages or shop floor delays caused by material delivery gaps.
  • Procurement savings against baseline target estimations on major bulk commodity accounts.
  • Safe, on-schedule dispatch of completed structures out of the yard withoutfreight legaldelays.
