Job summary

Denali Therapeutics Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Procurement in South San Francisco to lead sourcing, negotiating and vendor management across Development and Commercial teams.

You will optimize procure-to-pay, monitor supplier performance, and drive savings while ensuring policy compliance and risk controls. The role requires 9+ years of biotech procurement experience, a bachelor’s degree, strong leadership, and expertise in Coupa/Concur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.
• 9+ years of procurement experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Strong purchasing, negotiating and vendor management skills.
• Fluent with Development and Commercial activities at a biotech company.
• Knowledge of procurement IT solutions (Coupa, Concur) and GAAP/SOX.

Responsibilities

• Source, assess, negotiate and manage vendors for Denali.
• Guide and assist Denali users and vendors to follow procure-to-pay processes.
• Lead prompt resolution of procure-to-pay issues with Development and Commercial and vendors.
• Ensure contract adherence, manage risks and optimize vendor relationships.
• Document, monitor and report vendor savings and other procurement KPIs.
• Provide benchmarking data and spend insights to inform negotiations and strategy.
• Contribute to and drive procurement strategy; mentor direct reports as needed.
