Job summary

Alto Neuroscience in Mountain View, CA seeks a Sr. Manager/Director of Procurement to lead global vendor contracting and management across research and clinical operations.

This role owns the procurement function end to end, from strategy to negotiating complex supplier agreements. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in biotech procurement, with hands-on legal experience drafting MSAs, CDAs, CRO/CDMO terms, and strong SOX/compliance knowledge.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of procurement experience in biotech/pharma/life sciences; 5+ years in leadership.
• Extensive in-house contract drafting and negotiation experience.
• Experience with CRO/CDMO/CMO, clinical supply and quality agreements.
• Knowledge of GxP, FDA/EMA requirements for suppliers.
• SOX controls and public company procurement policies.
• Ability to negotiate high-value contracts ($10M+) and manage executive relationships.
• Strong financial acumen and total cost of ownership analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build global procurement strategy aligned with research, clinical and commercial roadmap.
• Lead and scale procurement and contracts function.
• Develop SOX-compliant procurement policies and controls.
• Partner with Legal, Finance, Quality, Operations, Compliance on templates and playbooks.
• Oversee procure-to-pay processes and CLM; deliver spend analytics and savings.
