Job summary

Cerrowire is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead purchasing activities for MC Cable and related materials, located on-site in Hartselle, AL. You will oversee supplier negotiations, inventory control, and strategic sourcing to support Operations and Finance teams.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of purchasing experience, including three years in a managerial role, with strong communication and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field.
• At least five years’ experience in purchasing, supply chain, or inventory management.
• At least three years in a managing role within purchasing.
• Negotiating contracts, pricing, terms, and service agreements with suppliers.
• Managing supplier relationships and performance.
• Professional and effective written and oral communication skills.
• Sound problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of ERP systems.
• Well organized.
• Negotiating experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Support Operations and Finance teams with inventory management, forecasting and control.
• Implement strategies to maintain continuous supply of purchased materials that result in high customer service.
• Manage inventories by increasing turns and minimizing excess and obsolete materials.
• Support/drive the implementation of purchasing best practices.
• Maintain and build positive vendor relations.
• Support on-time delivery and inventory goals.
• Lead/support negotiations with suppliers that satisfy price, quality, delivery, product development, and cost reduction requirements.
• Resolve supplier quality issues.
• Work with accounting and accounts payable to resolve discrepancies.
• Manage the purchase order process.
• Perform additional duties as assigned as needed.
