Job summary

APM Terminals Elizabeth is hiring an Assistant Procurement Manager to lead end‑to‑end procurement for services, supplies, inventory, and equipment at the Elizabeth, NJ terminal. You’ll collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, HSSE, and Supply Chain to forecast spend and align strategic procurement initiatives.

The role requires 3–5 years in procurement/supply chain within logistics or terminal environments, plus strong analytical and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain in logistics or terminal environments.
• Experience with procurement lifecycle, contract management, vendor management, and sourcing processes.
• Strong analytical capability with spend data, cost models, supplier benchmarking, market analysis, and savings initiatives.
• Familiarity with ERP and e‑tendering platforms, with an interest in digital/process improvement.
• Ability to work within procurement governance, compliance requirements, ethical sourcing, and risk controls.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end procurement activities for services, supplies, inventory, and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing for the terminal.
• Assist with sourcing and tendering activities, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, HSSE, and Supply Chain teams to forecast spend and align initiatives.
• Develop and maintain procurement analytics, including spend reporting, category analysis, and vendor performance tracking.
• Support supplier relationship management, onboarding, contract compliance monitoring, and performance evaluation.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to ensure accurate transaction processing and resolve invoicing issues.
• Support governance, responsible procurement, risk management, digital initiatives, reporting, and special projects.
