Job summary

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern - Procurement Buyer for Summer 2027 in Pittsburgh, PA. You will work on real-world procurement projects, support RFP/RFQ processes, and gain exposure to local spend analysis while collaborating with a global leader in transit technology.

This paid internship offers mentorship and events to help you build a career in procurement and supply chain, with May 2027 through August 2027 hiring window aligned to the university calendar.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of procurement experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Windows operating system education/experience.
• Microsoft Office, Excel and Word education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure periodical spend reporting at Procurement Geographic Area Level.
• Support local procurement activity execution by preparing RFP / RFQ documentation.
• Support the preparation and execution of PO/ Final Contract Documentation for relevant local procurement commodity.
• Support supplier performance analysis through performance reviews by collecting feedback from relevant units/internal customers.
• Support business functions on specific required procurement actions aimed to achieve cost reduction.
