Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field with at least four years of directly related experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience with purchasing, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, or financial reconciliation processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data and prepare reports for management decisions.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures while exercising independent judgment in resolving complex issues.

  • Oversee procurement, contract administration, and related financial operations for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
  • Provide financial analysis, reconciliation, expenditure monitoring, and operational reporting for leadership.

Professional Position Details

The Opportunity: As a Procurement & Financial Operations Manager, you will serve as the primary administrative resource for procurement, contract administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and related financial operations for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). Independently managing complex purchasing activities, vendor relationships, contract tracking and administration, and business processes supporting hospital operations. This position will provide financial analysis, reconciliation, expenditure monitoring, and operational reporting to support decision-making by the Director/CFO and hospital leadership. Ensuring compliance with university policies, state regulations, and internal controls related to purchasing, contracting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fiscal operations. The Procurement & Financial Operations Manager exercises independent judgment and discretion in evaluating procurement needs, coordinating complex acquisitions, administering contracts, resolving financial discrepancies, and developing systems and processes to improve efficiency and accountability.

Additional Information

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $4,942.10 - $7,567.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Demonstrated experience with purchasing, procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, or financial reconciliation processes.
  • Experience analyzing financial and operational data and preparing reports, recommendations, or summaries for management decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies, regulations, and procedures while exercising independent judgment and discretion in resolving complex administrative and financial issues.
  • Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, such as: Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Experience administering service, maintenance, software, or equipment contracts, including contract tracking, renewals, and vendor relationship management.
  • Experience coordinating complex procurement activities, including competitive solicitations, sole-source purchases, capital equipment acquisitions, and vendor negotiations.
  • Experience using Workday, Workday reporting tools, or other enterprise financial and procurement systems.
  • Experience developing business processes, internal controls, operational procedures, and process improvement initiatives related to financial operations, procurement, or contract administration.
