Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning is responsible for meeting the child care and early education needs of Georgia's children and their families. It administers the nationally recognized Georgia's Pre-K Program, licenses child care centers and home-based child care, administers Georgia Childcare and Parent Services (CAPS) program, federal nutrition programs, and manages Quality Rated, Georgia's community powered child care rating system. The department also houses the Head Start State Collaboration Office, distributes federal funding to enhance the quality and availability of child care, and works collaboratively with Georgia child care resource and referral agencies and organizations throughout the state to enhance early care and education.
Under supervision, performs complex administrative duties, financial, and operational data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making in functional area. Will partner with GBA and DOAS to perform facilities management and purchases for the department. Exercises various latitudes of independent judgment. May administer or provide high level support for various projects, grants, contracts, implementation of procedures, and/or specialized functions. The selected candidate must pass a credit check and be qualified to obtain a state purchasing card as a precondition for hiring.
Requires the ability receive detailed information through oral communication. Requires the ability to speak clearly. Requires the ability to occasionally continuously stand or walk for long periods of time; regularly requires bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items or materials occasionally of moderate weight up to 30 pounds. Requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading and visual inspection. Requires the ability to review, classify, categorize, prioritize, and/or analyze data. Includes exercising discretion in determining data classification. Requires the ability to exercise judgement, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable. Requires a full range of hand and finger motion for data entry purposes.
Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment.

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess four or more of the following: Experience with DOAS Risk Management Experience with State purchasing Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel consisting of VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables Skill in using PeopleSoft Queries and Reports Proven excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Experience with Federal grants and State Accounting Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated
