Sandalwood Engineering & Ergonomics is seeking a Procurement Engineer to lead turnkey material-handling and ergonomic projects in manufacturing environments. You will drive concept development, supplier selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning, coordinating with suppliers, ergonomists, and manufacturing teams to deliver safe, efficient systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing engineering projects in manufacturing.
• Experience leading capital equipment procurement and supplier selection.
• Experience with external suppliers, integrators, and equipment manufacturers.
• Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficient communication and organizational skills.
• English proficiency for professional work.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing, ergonomic, and material-handling solutions for processes with ergonomic risk.
• Develop and evaluate engineering concepts and turnkey solutions.
• Coordinate supplier sourcing activities including RFQs and supplier selection.
• Collaborate with suppliers to design, manufacture, install, and validate solutions.
• Manage project budgets, procurement activities, timelines, and implementation schedules.
• Lead design reviews and stakeholder meetings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across manufacturing, maintenance, safety, ergonomics, operations and quality.
• Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, and final acceptance.
• Ensure proposed solutions meet ergonomic, safety, quality, and operational requirements.
• Develop project documentation, specifications, and supplier performance metrics.
• Support training and change management for new equipment and processes.
• Track project status, risks, and corrective actions with stakeholders.
