Job summary

Goodwin Living, a nonprofit senior living and healthcare organization in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking a purchasing professional to manage requisitions, order entry, and vendor relations within our procurement team.

This full-time role offers a 9 am–5 pm schedule, hourly pay of 29–35, opportunities for growth, and strong benefits, including health, dental, 401(k), and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of direct purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in business-related field.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
• Experience with ERP systems and procurement software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and with vendors.
• Reliable with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between campuses as needed

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
• Enter orders with correct quantities and materials.
• Resolve invoices using ERP and procurement systems.
• Monitor billing and usage reports for medical supplies.
• Coordinate returns, warranties, and vendor credits.
• Track credits through resolution.
• Maintain purchasing records and documentation.
• Communicate updates to stakeholders as needed.
• Support departmental goals and collaborate with the team.
• Uphold policies and ensure attendance and reliability.
• Travel to campus and vendor locations as required

Pay: $29-$35 per hour

Schedule: 9am-5pm

Essential Duties

• Receives and reviews purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy.
• Assists with order entry ensuring accurate quantities, materials and products.
• Resolves invoices through our ERP and procurement systems.
• Monitors medical supply billing and process usage reports.
• Coordinates returns, warranties, and vendor credits.
• Tracks outstanding credits through to resolution.
• Maintains accurate purchasing records and documentation.
• Communicates updates to department contacts as needed.
• Contributes extensively to achieving departmental goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ direct experience required in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Supply Management, or Merchandising highly preferred,
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing best practices.
• Experience working with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and procurement software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with vendors and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Professional customer service and vendor relationship management skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to all Goodwin Living campuses, vendors’ warehouses/showrooms as needed
