San Diego International Airport Authority is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to manage contracts, records, and data workflows within the public procurement framework. You will support documentation, reporting, and cross‑department collaboration to keep information moving accurately.
This early‑career role in the School 2 SAN program offers growth opportunities in data, contracts, and process improvement while gaining exposure to a wide range of aviation and public service careers.
Welcome to San Diego International Airport, where our core purpose is to create an exceptional experience for both our community and visitors from around the world. It extends beyond just flights; we embody the vibrant spirit of San Diego itself—sunny, welcoming, and full of life. We are committed to attracting, fostering, and empowering a team of talented individuals who can deliver our strategic goals:
Here, culture starts with each of us. Our workplace is shaped by mindsets that guide how we show up for one another: believing the best in people, collaboration, empathy, listening, and thoughtful decision-making.
The Procurement department is looking for a Procurement Coordinator with a sharp eye for detail and a curiosity for how information, processes, and people connect to support procurement across SAN. This role will coordinate procurement records and documentation, support contract and document workflows, organize and analyze data, develop reporting, and work with internal departments and external partners to research questions and keep information moving accurately.
As part of the Authority's career pathway program, School 2 SAN, this opportunity is designed as an early‑career opportunity to learn public‑sector procurement from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be responsible, organized, comfortable working independently, and eager to learn new systems and turn information into something useful. As their knowledge grows, they'll have opportunities to become a go‑to resource for reporting and contribute to special projects that use data and technology to improve processes, strengthen audit readiness, and solve real operational challenges.
This role comes with a pretty unique view of how an airport works. Think about everything it takes to keep an airport running—from technology and equipment to professional services, construction support, and everyday supplies. Somewhere along the way, Procurement helped make it happen.
For someone starting their career, that means exposure to teams and work they may not even know exist yet, while building skills in data, contracts, systems, and process improvement. For someone curious about a career in public service, it's a front‑row seat to how an airport works—and a chance to see where their strengths and interests could take flight.
The School 2 SAN program provides entry‑level opportunities for individuals with limited or no prior work experience. Our goal is to help students and recent graduates build their knowledge, skills, and confidence on the job, while gaining exposure to the wide range of careers available in aviation, public service, and infrastructure. You are eligible if you meet the minimum education requirements of the position. Individuals hired through this pathway begin at a lower salary and are automatically moved to the organization's benchmarked series hiring salary once the minimum years of experience have been met. No prior work experience required—you'll gain that here!
Join a collaborative Procurement team that works across strategic sourcing, contract administration, warehouse operations, supplier engagement, and procurement innovation to support SAN and departments throughout the Airport Authority. The team is nationally recognized for its commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, earning the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award for 17 consecutive years through its focus on best practices, transparency, and outstanding customer service.
