Job summary

Northern Wasco County PUD is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist II to join our Purchasing team. This full-time, exempt position follows a 4/10 Mon-Thu schedule with hybrid in-office requirements.

Under the Purchasing Manager, you will support procurement, bids, POs, and policy compliance, while guiding staff on purchasing procedures and maintaining records. The role emphasizes collaboration and training across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in purchasing/procurement.
• 3+ years progressively responsible purchasing/procurement/contract administration experience; public agency preferred.
• CPPB/CPPO or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow procurement policies and procedures throughout the process.
• Review requests, create purchase orders, and track procurement records.
• Collaborate across departments to align requirements and timelines.
• Draft RFPs and contract documents; coordinate with legal as needed.
• Ensure contracts are funded and manage changes with vendors.
• Present procurement data and trends to management.
