Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Agriculture Consumer Service, is seeking a Procurement Specialist I (S) to review and manage purchasing for twenty-five divisions, including office supplies, equipment, leases, and services.

The role provides training on the E-Procurement system, handles inquiries, quotes, bids, and vendor conflicts, and supports the WEX gas card program and procurement card auditing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with two years of procurement experience; or equivalent combination.
• Experience with procurement, contracts, and knowledge of NC regulations.
• Experience with electronic procurement and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Review contractual and non-contractual purchases for the Department.
• Handle inquiries, quotes, bids, vendor conflicts and resolutions.
• Encumber funds through purchase orders and train on the E-Procurement system.
• Back up the WEX gas card program and audit procurement cards.
• Back-up to the Agriculture Building Mailroom and drive a State-owned vehicle to deliver mail.
