Job summary

NAVWAR in San Diego, CA seeks a civilian contract specialist to support DoD acquisitions. You will plan procurement actions, negotiate contracts for services and supplies, and draft contract documents based on detailed guidance from senior staff.

Initial qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, with GS-07 level experience or equivalent, plus demonstrated ability to monitor contractor requirements, perform price analysis, and complete contractor paperwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited educational institution required.
• GS-07: one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-05 level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience.
• Experience monitoring contractor requirements and completing contractor paperwork.
• While necessary, travel and security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan procurement actions to acquire goods, services, or work from an external source.
• Negotiate contracts for services and supplies.
• Draft contract documents based on detailed information provided by senior contract specialist/supervisor.
• Analyze price or cost data for contract modifications to determine necessity and reasonableness.
