Job summary

The City of Camas Finance Department seeks a Procurement Contracts Specialist to support citywide procurement operations. Hours are Monday–Friday 8am–5pm with potential remote work up to 2 days per week. The role is represented by the Camas Public Employees’ Association and includes a full benefits package.

The specialist will administer contracts through the procurement lifecycle, ensure compliance with policies and laws, and provide expert assistance to internal staff and external contractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics or related field
  • Two years of procurement or purchasing experience with related legal terminology
  • Familiar with e-procurement and contract management
  • Washington State public sector experience preferred
  • APWA CAEC certification or equivalent

Job description

Job Description

The City of Camas Finance Department is seeking qualified applicants for a Procurement Contracts Specialist. This position will mainly support citywide procurement operations within the Finance Department. Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some opportunity for remote work up to 2 days per week. The position is represented by the Camas Public Employees’ Association and is eligible for a full benefits package.


Job Duties

This position will collaboratively work with the Public Works Procurement Contracts Specialist to support one another and strengthen procurement processes across the organization. The selected individual will be responsible for administering and managing contracts throughout the procurement lifecycle, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, best practices, and legal requirements. They will play a key role in supporting efficient, transparent, and effective procurement and contracting operations across the City. Responsible for reviewing, drafting, and processing formal and informal bidding documents, requests for proposals (RFPs), and qualifications-based selections. This position will provide expert technical assistance and collaborative support to internal city staff and external contractors.


Minimum Qualifications


  • Equivalent to bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Management, Legal Studies, or related field

  • Two years of experience in procurement or purchasing and related legal terminology

  • Familiar with e-procurement and contract management preferred

  • Washington State public sector experience preferred

  • APWA Contract Administration Committee (CAEC) certification or equivalent
