The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Office of Contracts and Procurement. The purpose of the Procurement & Contract Assistant, is to support purchasing and contracting staff with acquiring supplies, products, and services using established procurement methods, maintain accurate personnel records while handling confidential and sensitive information with care, review and analyze contract requests to ensure sufficient information is provided to develop clear Contracts and Statements of Work, and partner with ODHS accounting staff and managers to resolve questions related to payments, invoicing, and receiving.
Two years of clerical-support experience in related fields such as general business, accounting, contracts, purchasing, or project administration support. Associates degree or higher will substitute for the experience. A one-year certificate in supply chain, logistics management, procurement, or a related field will substitute for one year of experience.

General office environment. Employee must have the ability to work with a high degree of independence. Employee may have to perform important projects under short timelines and competing priorities. Some overnight travel may be required to complete various types of purchasing and contracting tasks. Employee must be able to stand for up to four hours at a time for the purpose of conducting various Purchasing and Contracting tasks including assisting in training seminars. Employee must be able to lift and transport boxes as well as equipment weighing up to 40 pounds per item. Hybrid Work Schedule will be considered in filling this position. This position will be required to come into the Salem office 2 or 3 days per week. The ability to report to an office more frequently is required when training, business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities.
