Summary

The Procurement Category Specialist is responsible for identifying and executing sourcing projects in the Supply Chain and Logistics category for various global stakeholders. Sourcing projects follow a defined process, including market sourcing, pricing and agreement negotiations, supplier onboarding, tracking deliverables, and monitoring supplier performance until project completion. This position requires skills in project management, data analytics, problem solving, attention to detail, clear communication, collaboration, teamwork, and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead simple to moderately complex Logistics and Global Fleet sourcing projects, including single source, RFI, RFP, RFQ opportunities for the assigned category.
  2. Review, redline, and negotiate a variety of moderately complex Logistics and Global Fleet supplier agreements in coordination with Legal and internal stakeholders.
  3. Process new confidentiality agreement requests from internal stakeholders and Category Managers. Renew confidentiality agreements as requested.
  4. Renegotiate simple to moderately complex agreement renewals and amendments as needed.
  5. Work with Procurement Operations and Enterprise Services teams to issue Purchase Orders and reconcile invoices.
  6. Interact daily with internal stakeholders and suppliers on procurement projects.
  7. Manage and develop supplier relationships, monitor performance to meet delivery commitments and agreement terms.
  8. Take on special projects assigned by Supervisor.
Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university.

Relevant Experience
  • 2+ years experience in Supply Chain / Logistics
  • Familiarity with supply chain supplier agreements and key terms and conditions
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive stakeholder and supplier follow-up
  • Analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement requests within deadlines
  • Good project management and cross-stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Negotiation experience
  • Power BI and advanced Excel skills are a plus
