Job summary

BioMerieux Inc. in Utah is seeking a Buyer I to procure direct materials for manufacturing, manage supplier performance, and ensure on-time delivery while aligning with quality and regulatory requirements.

You will plan procurement through SAP, monitor inventory via MRP, support R&D product transfers, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain; domestic and international travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience in biotech/medical device/pharmaceutical/manufacturing industry.
• SAP experience strongly preferred.
• APICS/ISM/NAPM certification is a plus.
• Experience procuring electrical & mechanical components, injection molded parts, chemicals, packaging & labeling materials.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions for accuracy and convert to purchase orders in SAP.
• Procure direct materials based on MRP requirements and supplier contracts.
• Monitor inventory and material availability to support manufacturing schedules.
• Issue POs and manage follow-up for on-time delivery.
• Coordinate supplier returns and SCAR activities when necessary.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships regarding delivery, quality, cost, and service.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, reliability, delivery, and service.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Legal to resolve contracts and terms issues.
• Support supplier payment processes and ensure procurement documentation is complete.
• Analyze demand requirements for raw materials and finished goods; monitor SAP planning parameters.
• Assist in identifying material shortages and supply risks; support production planning.
