Job summary

Fermi Inc in the United States is seeking an entry-level Buyer to join the Procurement & Supply Chain organization supporting Project Matador. You will issue and manage purchase orders in Oracle Fusion and actively expedite material deliveries to align with the construction schedule.

You will review requisitions, convert them to POs, confirm terms with suppliers, and track progress from fabrication to delivery. Reports to the Director of Procurement on project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 0–2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, expediting, or a related supply chain support role.
• Working knowledge of purchase order processes and general familiarity with ERP/purchasing systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow up professionally and persistently with vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general comfort learning ERP/tracking systems.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high volume of open orders and follow-up items simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and escalation issues appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue purchase orders and blanket order releases in Oracle Fusion from approved requisitions, in accordance with standard terms and the Delegation of Authority.
• Review requisitions for completeness and proper coding before PO issuance.
• Confirm order acknowledgment with suppliers, verifying pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
• Process PO amendments, revisions, and closeouts in Oracle Fusion; maintain accurate forecasts.
• Maintain auditable PO files with quotes, approvals, and documentation.
• Monitor open POs and expedite orders, flag delays and escalate as needed.
• Cross-reference delivery dates with Primavera P6/Unifier schedules to flag risks.
• Coordinate with suppliers on submittals, drawings, tests, and certifications.
• Document communications in the project system for auditability.
• Prepare periodic PO status and expediting reports for leadership.
• Support ERP/document management across procurement activities.
• Collaborate with site teams to align deliveries with laydown and sequencing.
