Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders aligned with production schedules.
• Monitor supplier acknowledgements, shipment status, and on-time delivery.
• Assist with supplier onboarding and ERP setup.
• Coordinate with engineering/operations on specs and lead times.
• Maintain procurement records, pricing data, and supplier information in ERP.
• Support supplier communication on delivery updates and invoice issues.
• Participate in routine price negotiations for standard materials.
• Escalate delivery or quality concerns to senior staff.

Position SummaryThe Procurement Buyer I supports the procurement function through the execution of day-to-day purchasing activities, supplier coordination, purchase order management, and supplier onboarding activities. This role works closely with engineering, operations, production planning, and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials and services required for wastewater equipment manufacturing operations.The Procurement Buyer I develops foundational procurement knowledge while supporting supplier performance, delivery execution, and commercial compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate, issue, and manage purchase orders in accordance with production schedules and project requirements.Monitor supplier acknowledgements, shipment status, and on-time delivery performance.Assist with supplier onboarding activities including documentation collection, compliance verification, and ERP setup.Coordinate with engineering and operations teams regarding specifications, lead times, and material requirements.Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing data, and supplier information within ERP systems.Support supplier communication regarding delivery updates, order discrepancies, and invoice issues.Participate in routine price negotiations for standard materials and services.Escalate supplier delivery or quality concerns to senior procurement staff when appropriate.Support inventory optimization and material availability initiatives.Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred or equivalent purchasing experience1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.Experience working within ERP/MRP systems preferred.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software.Core CompetenciesProcurement administrationSupplier communicationPurchase order managementAttention to detailCross-functional collaborationTime management
