Job summary

Center for Energy and Environment in Minneapolis seeks an Assistant Program Manager to lead procurement and budgeting within the Market Transformation team. Reporting to Operations Manager, you will manage vendor procurement, develop annual work plans, and support department budgeting to advance energy efficiency initiatives.

The role combines process improvement, cross‑functional collaboration, and strategic oversight, with hybrid work 1–2 days on site. Local candidates encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of procurement practices including RFP/RFQ development and contract lifecycle management.
• Microsoft 365 and Excel for budget analysis, including tracking variances.
• Willingness to learn AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Experience in operations, procurement, budgeting, or financial administration; degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement policy understanding and vendor procurement processes.
• Assist in developing RFPs/RFQs and manage vendor lists.
• Track procurement timelines and make contracting recommendations within guidelines.
• Help develop MT budget and workplan with the Operations Manager; monitor spending and variances.
• Improve department processes and communicate updates; explore AI-enabled workflows.
