Job summary

Simplot Company is seeking a Procurement Associate for the Pasco plant to manage end-to-end purchasing processes, from vendor selection to PO creation and expediting critical orders.

You will monitor supplier performance, assist with ERP system usage, and reconcile invoices while maintaining inventory levels. The role includes coverage for the Pasco Production Scheduler and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred in business management or office management.
• 2+ years related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of Purchasing, Planning, Inventory &/or Warehousing.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Good knowledge of computer systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Handle all procurement transactions including vendor selection, sourcing, and prompt processing.
• Convert requisitions to PO, expediting purchases, manage approved vendor lists and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Monitor supplier performance metrics and support ERP users and procurement workflows.
• Perform invoice reconciliation and resolve transactional vendor quality complaints.
• Maintain inventory levels and provide coverage for Pasco Production Scheduler as needed.
• Communicate efficiently with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Summary

The Procurement Associate will deliver on all aspects of the purchase transaction including proper vendor selection, sourcing accurate and prompt transaction processing as well as problem resolution for select procurement activities. He/She will also resolve transactional vendor quality complaints and measures key supplier performance metrics around pricing, delivery and quality. This position will provide coverage for the Pasco Production Scheduler as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all proper vendor selection, sourcing, accurate and prompt transaction processing as well as problem resolution.
• Responsible for all aspects of the purchase transaction including conversion of requisitions to PO, expediting of critical purchases, managing approved vendor lists and ensuring pricing accuracy.
• Monitors key supplier performance metrics
• Provides support for suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding use of ERP systems and procurement work flows to expedite purchasing of goods and services.
• Invoice reconciliation
• Resolves transactional vendor quality complaints.
• Maintain inventory levels.
• Provide basic edits and communications for coverage of the Pasco Production Scheduler.
• Other tasks as assigned by plant management.

Typical Education

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Associates degree preferred in business management or office management.

Relevant Experience

• 2+ years related experience and/or training

Wage range or rate of pay: $27/hr - $29/hr, plus annual incentive plan eligibility
