Maryland AG is seeking an intermediate-level procurement professional to serve as the Agency Purchasing Agent for the Cecil County Health Department in Elkton, MD. The role supports the preparation, development, processing, and administration of solicitations, POs, and contracts to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant purchasing for agency needs.

Qualifications

• Experience obtaining and comparing product information, vendor quotations, prices, or service options.
• Experience preparing or processing requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, contracts, or similar documents.
• Effective written and verbal communication with staff, vendors and the public.
• Ability to learn and apply state and local purchasing policies and procurement requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, development, processing, and administration of solicitations, purchase orders and contracts.
• Obtain bids or price quotes from vendors and review responses for compliance and best value.
• Track procurement activity and reconcile purchasing records and State credit card transactions.
• Support the Procurement Supervisor in ensuring timely, cost-effective and compliant purchases.
