Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an experienced procurement professional to coordinate competitive procurements for commodities, services, and construction projects, using formal solicitation types including Invitations to Bid, Invitations to Quote, and RFPs. This full-time role is based at Government Center/Viera with a standard M–F schedule.

$23.86 to $26.25 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced professional work coordinating competitive procurements for commodities, services, and construction projects, utilizing various formal solicitation types, including Invitation to Bid, Invitation to Quote, and Request for Proposals (RFPs).
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, Economics, or a closely related field PLUS one (1) year of experience in purchasing. Government purchasing and/or procurement experience is preferred. Certification as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) is preferred. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver’s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must complete, within nine (9) months of employment, all of the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees. Must submit an annual Personal Financial Disclosure to the State of Florida, in accordance with Florida Statute 112.3145. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
