Job summary

JBS Foods in Columbia Township, MO is seeking a Procurement Analyst to optimize purchasing of packaging, ingredients, services, and MRO. You will handle SAP-based purchase orders, work with plant managers and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, and support R&D in sourcing new materials.

You will analyze data, drive cost savings programs with the Global Procurement team, and help resolve supplier issues. Strong communication and negotiation skills, 3+ years in supply chain with SAP experience

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supply chain experience, or equivalent education, in purchasing, planning, logistics, or manufacturing with financial responsibility.
  • Superior analytic capacity and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems in manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience in a manufacturing company with broad knowledge of operations, distribution, and sales.
  • Self-starter, driven and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Skilled negotiator.
  • Excellent team-oriented approach and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of purchasing, selling, scheduling, and production planning of perishable food products is desired.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead negotiations and work with teams.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of materials from schedulers, planners, and requisitions.
  • Input and update purchase orders promptly.
  • Confirm all POs in SAP within 48 hours.
  • Optimize SAP to improve purchasing and records.
  • Build supplier relationships and monitor orders and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement on cost‑savings projects.
  • Assist in claims processes and supplier dispute resolution.
  • Identify quality issues and lead problem-solving.
  • Work with Finance to resolve block invoices.
  • Recommend optimal supplier mix for packaging, ingredients, and supplies.
  • Reduce inventory with Plant Manager and Finance.
  • Process plant-level requisitions.
  • Handle AP issues via SAP Workflow.
  • Improve purchasing processes for facilities.
  • Handle product claims with suppliers and brokers.

Procurement Analyst

Description

Scope:

The Procurement Analyst will report to the Procurement Manager with a dotted line to the Plant Manager. The position will be responsible for optimizing the supply chain purchasing of all packaging, ingredients, services, supplies, and MRO parts. The Procurement Analyst handles all administrative tasks surrounding the purchasing of the materials mentioned above. The Analyst will work with facility managers and supervisors to ensure timely delivery of materials to facilities. The Analyst will work with suppliers to ensure timely, full delivery of orders. The Analyst will work with R&D to source new material and ingredients.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures delivery of requested materials from JBS Prepared Foods schedulers, planners, and requisitions
  • Ensures Prompt input of purchase orders and changes to purchase orders
  • Confirm all Purchase order in SAP within 48 hours
  • Ensures optimization of SAP to improve purchase process and accurate financial record documentation
  • Develop positive relationships with supplier(s) and keep in close contact regarding orders, market conditions, and trends
  • Work with JBS Global Procurement team on projects and cost savings programs
  • Assist in any claims process:
  • Ensure timely resolution of plant-initiated claims with suppliers
  • Identify chronic quality issues and trigger problem-solving
  • Work with the Finance team to resolve block invoice issues
  • Recommend to the Procurement Manager - optimal supply chain for back-end of overall supply chain system including, but not limited to, optimal mix of suppliers for all packaging, ingredients, and supplies
  • Work with the Plant Manager and the Finance team to reduce inventory levels to improve FCF while maintaining plant efficiency
  • Help process requisitions at the plant level
  • Process AP issues with SAP Workflow
  • Work with plant management to improve overall purchasing processes for facilities
  • Processes product claims with suppliers, brokers, and plants to an agreeable resolution and reimbursement for issues dealing with packaging and ingredients
