Eastern Industrial Supplies, Inc. is seeking a Strategic Purchasing & Vendor Management professional to develop strategic buying plans and optimize supplier performance across the enterprise. You will negotiate with vendors, manage PO lifecycle, and coordinate stock transfers to sustain inventory health.

You will also analyze market data to inform cost strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in procurement operations and supplier relationships.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 1+ years working with large data sets.
• 3–7+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans aligned with inventory needs and sales forecasts.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
• Monitor vendor performance (pricing, lead times, fill rates) and address issues proactively.
• Assist in creation, issuance, and management of Divvy cards for the sales team; manage PO lifecycle.
• Enter and manage stock transfers across branches/warehouses to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Expedite open purchase orders and communicate delays to internal stakeholders.
• Analyze data on commodity pricing trends and supply market changes; provide insights for buying decisions.

About The Role

Strategic Purchasing & Vendor Management

• Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans aligned with inventory needs and sales forecasts
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness
• Monitor vendor performance (pricing, lead times, fill rates) and address issues proactively
• Expedite open purchase orders, proactively following up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery and communicating delays or issues to internal stakeholders.

Procurement Operations & Support

• Assist in the creation, issuance, and management of Divvy cards for the sales team, ensuring proper usage and compliance
• Support purchase order (PO) lifecycle including creation, review, approval, and closure
• Enter and manage stock transfers across branches/warehouses to maintain optimal inventory levels
• Expedite open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and minimize disruption

Data Analysis & Market Awareness

• Analyze and make recommendations based on data related to commodity pricing trends and supply market changes
• Collaborate with Procurement team to provide insights that inform buying decisions and cost strategies
• Track and report on key purchasing metrics (cost savings, vendor performance, lead times)
• Supporting the Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Accounting, and Procurement departments as needed.

• Provides support to the procurement department by helping with vendor purchase orders, branch transfers.
• Eclipse reporting, vendor maintenance, and other general purchasing activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management preferred. 1+ years working with large data sets. 3–7+ years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain preferred.
