Job summary

Versova is seeking a Processing Supervisor to supervise egg processing operations in a high-volume facility in Ohio. You will support the Processing Manager, lead staff, and help drive quality, safety, and efficiency across washing, grading, and packaging tasks.

The role requires 3+ years in processing with 2+ years in a supervisory capacity, ability to work nights/weekends/holidays, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Familiarity with USDA/FDA standards is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in multiple processing roles with at least 2 years in a lead/supervisor role.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Processing Manager in daily operations (washing, grading, packaging eggs).
• Ensure efficient workflow, labor utilization and monitor production metrics (yield/downtime).
• Train, coach and mentor processing staff with scheduling and performance feedback.
• Identify equipment issues, coordinate repairs and maintain cleanliness of processing area.
• Recommend process improvements to boost efficiency and product quality.

The Processing Supervisor plays a pivotal role in supervising and coordinating processing operations, directly contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of plant operations. This position supports the Processing Manager in leadership initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing plant operations, employee training, and performance.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist the Processing Manager in daily operations, including washing, grading, and packaging eggs.
• Ensure efficient workflow, labor utilization, and monitor production metrics such as yield and downtime.
• Maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, and company standards for quality, food safety, and workplace safety.
• Train, coach, and mentor processing staff, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance feedback; may have responsibility for personnel actions including recruitment, hiring, promotion, performance management, discipline, and termination in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.
• Identify equipment malfunctions, coordinate repairs, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, product quality, and team performance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in multiple processing roles, with at least 2 years of experience in a lead, supervisor, or manager role.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to work in various climate conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in the poultry or large-scale animal agriculture industry.
• Familiarity with USDA or other regulatory agencies.
• Previous experience in a food processing facility.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

This position operates within a food processing facility-like environment, characterized by exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and temperature variations. Employees will encounter heavy machinery sounds and are required to frequently stand, walk on uneven surfaces, lift, and perform manual tasks, demanding physical stamina.Comfort around animals and familiarity with agricultural machinery is essential. The work environment includes exposure to typical farm conditions such as dust, odors, and noise. Flexibility is crucial, as the role may necessitate availability for on-call duties and emergency situations outside standard hours. Adherence to safety protocols and biosecurity measures is paramount to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This dynamic setting demands adaptability, resilience, and the ability to work effectively in both independent and team-oriented situations.
