Job summary

Steel and Pipe Supply in Texas seeks a Warehouse Associate to process, stage, and package materials while ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.

You will inspect incoming and produced goods, read blueprints and measurements, and maintain inventory with attention to safety, equipment operation, and quality standards. The role requires reading calipers and micrometers and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience reading prints and blueprints preferred.
• Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required.
• Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices.
• Establish priorities for staging, processing, and packaging materials.
• Inspect and verify all aspects of material when receiving, producing, or packaging.
• Ensure materials meet prints and customer requirements and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Maintain and clean work area daily and follow audit and material traceability procedures.
• Wear PPE as required and operate within OSHA guidelines.
• Operate computer and read drawings or specifications as needed.
• Support continuous improvement and quality management efforts.

Job description

• Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required
• Follow and enforce company safety policies as safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others
• Establish priorities for efficiently staging, processing, and packaging materials
  • Accepts responsibility for all aspects of the work produced
• Inspects and verifies all aspects of the material when receiving, producing, or packaging
  • Size, Grade, measurements, quantity, etc.
• Scrutinizes customer requirements and special instructions to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction
  • Confirms materials and parts are produced to print
• Responsible for ensuring inventory is accurate
• Responsible for maintaining and cleaning work area daily
• Ensure audit and material traceability procedures are being followed throughout the Warehouse

Physical & Work Requirements:

• Working in a yard or warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; exposed to moving mechanical parts; steel-toed boots required daily.
• Facility is a multiple shift operation. Must possess the ability to work overtime and a flexible schedule and be on-call at various times including possible weekends and holidays.
• Fast-paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environment
• Job is performed under some temperature extremes
• Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift. Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipment
• Ability to lift up to 51 pounds as needed. Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds
• Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy)
• Understanding of US policies and procedures
• Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
