Job summary

Nutrition 101 LLC in Archdale, NC, seeks a Processing Equipment Operator/Forklift Operator to load, unload, and move materials safely within the production facility. You will operate forklifts, maintain inventories, and follow cGMP and safety procedures.

This role is 2nd shift, Monday–Friday during training: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM, with after-training schedule 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM. Must obtain forklift certification within weeks; able to lift up to 50 lbs; work in a non-climate-controlled facility

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification required; 1–2 years in production/warehouse preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with processing, recycling, or feed-handling equipment a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and production facility.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in counts.
  • Ensure proper stacking and safe handling of materials to optimize space and prevent damage.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves).
  • Collaborate with warehouse/production staff to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
  • Complete and maintain records of all material movements in company software.

Role Summary:

The Processing Equipment Operator at 101 plays a vital role in the efficient operation of the production facility. The primary responsibility is to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack products and materials safely and efficiently. Transport materials to designated locations, maintain accurate inventory records, and follow all safety protocols. This position requires collaboration with team members to support overall goals and ensure timely order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold and maintain the Company’s vision, mission, and core values.
  • Follow all Company policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with Department Manuals, Employee Manuals, and Safety Manuals.
  • Assist as a primary source for the day-to-day needs of 101 Plant Processing, including: Crushing, Baling, Cleaning, De-Packaging Finished Goods, Recycling, and more.
  • Obtain 101 Fork Truck Certification.
  • Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse and production facility.
  • Ensure proper stacking and storage of materials to prevent damage, optimize space, and keep goods organized according to Company processes.
  • Clear production area by securing and moving finished pallets; moving empty pallets.
  • Learn and become efficient on various types of Company equipment and operating machinery.
  • Assist in inventory counts and management by moving stock as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Watch out for foot traffic and don all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and troubleshoot or report any malfunctions or needed repairs.
  • Pick and prepare orders for shipment according to company standards and customer requirements.
  • Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and condition, reporting any discrepancies or damages.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of all material movements and forklift operations. Enter load data into designated Company software.
  • “Feed” processing crews to keep them busy and get off the forklift and help out with processing as needed.
  • Collaborate with warehouse/production staff, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Suggest improvements in processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by team leader/supervisor.
  • Attend all Company meetings and trainings as required.
Qualifications
  • Forklift Certified with 1–2 years of experience in a production, warehouse, or material handling environment preferred. Ability to get forklift certified within the first couple of weeks, required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with processing, recycling, or feed-handling equipment a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (cGMPs) and maintain accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work in varied conditions (heat, cold, noise, odors).
  • Willingness to wear required PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, etc.).
  • Must be able/willing to work in a non-climate-controlled facility.
  • Must be able/willing to work around dairy products.
  • Must comply with all Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs_ and facility hygiene standards.
  • Must comply with Jewelry & Hygiene Policy - no jewelry, watches, or visible piercings (including facial or tongue piercings) are permitted inside the production area in accordance with federal food safety regulations (21 CFR 117.10)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repetitively, heavier loads with assistance.
  • Comfortable working in varied environmental conditions, including heat, cold, noise, dust, and odors.
  • Capable of repetitive motions and manual handling of materials throughout the shift.
  • Must wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as non-slip, steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders or steps to access elevated work areas when necessary.
  • Able to work around dairy products.
