This full-time, non-exempt position requires lifting up to 50–75 lbs, wearing steel-toe shoes, and willingness to work rotating shifts, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends or overtime.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Able to lift 50–75 lbs.
  • Wear steel-toe shoes per safety policy.
  • Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or dusty environments.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including overtime.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols.

Job Role: Processing Worker/Production Worker

Classification: Regular, Full-Time Employee; Hourly, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM. Weekends as needed, occasionally overtime.

Location: 101PA - Wilkes-Barre, PA

Department: 500 - Processing

Reports To: Processing Shift Lead; Shift Supervisor

Pay: $20.00/hour

Job Summary

The Processing Worker is responsible for handling materials and following procedures to de-package and prepare products according to Company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand, uphold, and abide by the Company’s vision, mission and core values.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all Company policies, processes and procedures in accordance with the Employee Manual, the Safety Manual, Department Manual(s), and the Animal Food Safety Plan.
  • Show up to work on time, as scheduled.
  • Follow verbal and written work instructions and production guidelines.
  • Don appropriate PPE, including Safety Shoes, while in the plant.
  • Clean containers and machines to prepare products for processing, storage or shipment.
  • Unload food waste products (weighing up to 40 pounds) for extended periods of time and manage equipment to organize the product for further processing.
  • Ensure product is delivered to appropriate storage and packaging waste generated from the de-packaging is baled or collected for follow-up actions.
  • Prepare semi-trailers for return to customer site.
  • Maintain clean and orderly job sites. Report any issues and/or spills to the supervisor.
  • Clean and sanitize totes according to checklists and company processes.
  • Attend all Company meetings and trainings as directed by management.
  • No jewelry or any kind (rings, bracelets, watches, necklaces, earrings, facial piercings, etc.).
  • No visible piercings, including tongue, lip, eyebrow, or nose piercings.
  • No exception for “covered” or “taped” jewelry.
Key Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Employees in this position must wear company-approved steel-toe shoes in accordance with our safety policies.
  • Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or dusty environments with physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 – 75 lbs.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
