Job summary

House of Bricks in Wilkes-Barre, PA, is seeking a dependable Processing Associate for 1st or 2nd shift in a refrigerated food production facility. This on-site role offers $18.00-$19.50 per hour with a shift differential for the 2nd shift, and training provided.

You'll scale, measure, and prepare ingredients, monitor temperatures and weights, and follow GMPs, HACCP, and USDA guidelines to ensure safe, quality products. Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food manufacturing or USDA-regulated facility experience is a plus—but not required.

Responsibilities

• Scale, measure, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and batch instructions.

Shifts: 1st Shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM–12:00 AM

What You'll Do

As a Processing Associate, you will help ensure our products are prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently from start to finish.

• Scale, measure, and prepare ingredients according to established recipes and batch instructions.
• Load ingredients into mixers, blenders, cookers, and other processing equipment.
• Monitor product temperature, weight, appearance, and consistency during production.
• Accurately follow recipes, procedures, and production instructions.

Production & Equipment Support

• Assist machine operators with loading and unloading processing equipment.
• Stage ingredients and materials needed for production.
• Monitor equipment during operation and promptly report malfunctions or irregularities.
• Follow all safety procedures when working around powered equipment.

Food Safety & Quality

• Follow GMPs, HACCP procedures, USDA requirements, and company food safety standards.
• Maintain proper allergen controls and safe ingredient-handling practices.
• Perform visual checks to help ensure product quality and consistency.
• Immediately report quality concerns, product deviations, or safety issues.

Cleanliness & Sanitation

• Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized throughout the shift.
• Complete daily cleaning and sanitation activities.
• Properly dispose of waste and follow established safety procedures when handling materials and cleaning chemicals.

Teamwork & Flexibility

• Work collaboratively with production associates, leads, and supervisors.
• Assist with other production or packaging activities as needed.
• Participate in cross-training to develop additional skills.
• Contribute to a respectful, positive, and team-oriented workplace.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous food manufacturing or USDA-regulated facility experience is a plus—but not required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position in a refrigerated food-production environment.

You should be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Work in cold and/or humid production areas.
• Work around raw meat, spices, cleaning chemicals, and production equipment.
• Properly wear required PPE, including gloves, hair/beard nets, and protective footwear.
