Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a Plant Specialist to ensure plant personnel are trained and capable of carrying out duties in the process plant. The role focuses on onboarding, safety training, and maintaining training records in INX.

It includes managing Permit to Work procedures and supporting cyanide code compliance. The position emphasizes leadership in safety, training delivery, and collaboration with contractors, aimed at maintaining safe and efficient plant operations at the Haile Gold Mine site

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in plant operations including crushing, grinding, flotation, CIL, elution, and mobile equipment.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in LOTOTO and Permit to Work systems in the mining industry (or similar heavy industrial type industry).

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the two‑week onboarding process for new employees, covering plant layout, circuit overviews, P&ID references and operator responsibilities with emphasis on housekeeping.
• Provide task training for equipment used throughout the process plant and refresh training as needed.
• Manage training records (paper and INX system), including 5000-23 forms.
• Support Permit to Work Officer and help maintain the Permit to Work System to minimize production impact while ensuring safety and environmental control.
• Lead or participate in safety programs, ICAMs, risk assessments, and training sessions.
• Act as a representative when dealing with contractors and coordinate resources as required.
