Job summary

First Solar is seeking a Wastewater & Recycling Technician I to operate recycling and wastewater processes, assist in equipment installation and qualification, and troubleshoot day-to-day issues. The role emphasizes safety, data analysis, and process improvements within a manufacturing environment in Louisiana.

Responsibilities include maintaining systems, calibrating instruments, documenting results, and training associates while ensuring compliance with safety standards and 5S practices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 1+ year experience as Wastewater & Recycling Technician I or 3 years First Solar technical experience or 6 years in industrial/commercial operations
• Associates degree in a technical discipline with 1+ year as Wastewater & Recycling Technician I or 2 years First Solar Technical Experience or 3 years in industrial/commercial ops
• Bachelors degree in a technical discipline with 0–2 years experience in industrial/commercial ops
• Experience in equipment maintenance and process troubleshooting preferred
• Prior industrial wastewater treatment experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop a complete operational understanding of recycling and water treatment systems and equipment.
• Ensure processes run on target per the process plan.
• Collect and analyze process data; adjust as needed.
• Respond to process alarms and troubleshoot day-to-day issues.
• Perform maintenance and repairs on pumps and equipment.
• Calibrate instrumentation per ISO work instructions.
• Maintain accurate records using databases and spreadsheets.
• Provide training to production associates.
